Este libro es una obra colectiva en la que han participado dieciséis investigadores e investigadoras con el objetivo de analizar la violencia contra las mujeres en España y América Latina. Este tipo de violencia, también conocida como violencia de género o violencia machista, ha sido reconocida como una violación de los derechos humanos que tiene lugar en todas las regiones del mundo. El libro analiza su impacto y consecuencias en ocho países de habla hispana (España, Cuba, Perú, Colombia, Nicaragua, México, Argentina y Chile) y pone de manifiesto que estamos ante un problema estructural y multicausal que sobrepasa fronteras geográficas, económicas, culturales, sociales, etc. La perspectiva global utilizada a lo largo de la obra visibiliza la violencia en sus distintas manifestaciones y proporciona algunas claves que podrían facilitar su eliminación. This book is a collective work in which sixteen researchers have participated with the aim of analysing violence against women in Spain and Latin America. This form of violence, also known as gender-based violence or sexist violence, has been recognised as a human rights violation that occurs in all regions of the world. The book analyses its impact and consequences in eight Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Cuba, Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua, Mexico, Argentina and Chile) and shows that it is a structural and multi-causal problem that crosses geographical, economical, cultural and social borders. The global perspective used throughout the work makes violence visible in its different manifestations and provides some keys that could facilitate its elimination.
