There are few sports that are so little known as the air sports, and at the same time are so attractive for all those who love to experience the feeling of freedom, risk and many other emotions that, from up on high, seem to be reserved for the birds.
However, the concept of ´air sports´ goes much further, and although at first glance they may seem to be reserved for a well-to-do minority, Alberto García shows us in this book that there are options open to all ages and pocketbooks. From ballooning to aeroplane modelling, hang-gliding, para-gliding, ultra-lights, etc., everyone is sure to find the one that best suits their interests or the most affordable way of getting started.
Technology and continuous research have made it possible to obtain high levels of safety in all of them. Furthermore, the legislative promotion and support offered by the World Air Sports Federation (FAI) and the different flying clubs have led to ever increasing regulation of these sports. Specifically in our country, the RACE is the institution that watches over aeronautical interests, in both the sports and tourism areas of this corner of aviation.
The author, an aeronautics and journalism professional, through a pleasant narration that is easy to read, delves into each and every one of these sports that are gaining new followers every day, and which, following the publication of this book, will grow even more with new participants in these fascinating sports.
